Dr. Monika Sogani :

Dr Monika Sogani is an Associate Professor in Environmental Sciences and Engineering in the Department of Civil Engineering, Manipal University Jaipur. She received her doctoral degree in Environmental Biotechnology and has also completed her postdoc research at the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology, University of Cambridge, UK on a prestigious research fellowship under the Schlumberger Foundation Netherlands’ Faculty for the Future programme. She has about 15 years of teaching and research experience while working with different institutes of engineering and technology in India. The research domain of Dr Sogani so far is the wastewater treatment and bio-energy sector including bioremediation of micro-pollutants in various wastewaters. She has received various externally funded research and travel grants from many Indian and international agencies including DST India, SERB India, AICTE India, CSIR India, ADBI Tokyo, Schlumberger Foundation Netherlands, SETAC Europe, DAAD Germany etc. Dr Sogani has various research publications in peer-reviewed journals and has presented many research and conceptual papers in various international and national conferences and seminars. Dr Sogani recently coordinated an ADBI Tokyo funded evaluation study analyzing the socio-economic spillovers resulted from the functioning of Sewage Treatment Plants in Jaipur. She has been the Deputy Convener for Non Sewered Sanitation MTech/PG courses to be adopted at MUJ, India from 2019 onwards in coordination with UNESCO-IHE Delft and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF). She has been instrumental in garnering various collaborative MoUs between MUJ and lead international agencies like CSIRO, Australia and ICE WaRM Australia as an active member of team managing international partnerships at MUJ.
